This zoo in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture has a theme of “Nature, Animals, and Kids.” It raises about 90 animal species, including lions, giraffes, and Asian elephants. You can see the animals up close and feed and pet some of the smaller ones. Pony rides are popular with the kids. There is also an amusement park on the grounds, a pool that’s open in summer, and a winter fishing pond. A visit provides a day of fun for the whole family.

It is not so big zoo. But you can enjoy water some animals near.You can see white lions and white tigers both.ホワイトライオンとホワイトタイガーが両方観られる数少ない動物園です。宇都宮駅からバスで30分程度で行くことができます。

ゾウの宮子がかわいそうすぎ・・・。他の動物も推して知るべし。

ゾウの宮子はとても狭い展示場で、硬いコンクリートで、日差しを遮るものもなく、たった一頭で45年も飼われ、客が与える持ち込みのエサなどを拾うくらいしかない宮子・・・。他の動物園に飼育変更すると、客へのアピール度が減り、入園料が減る、とのことですね。勧告を受けていても強制力がないので無視して、宮子は死ぬまでこのままとのこと。
