Kokoya Bokuan
Other Light Meals
Kokoya, located on the Ikaho Stone Steps, is famous for its specialty Ikaho-yaki (octopus takoyaki). Visitors order the takoyaki on their way to worship at Ikaho Shrine, and they are ready to eat hot on their return. The tender and juicy takoyaki, crispy on the outside and filled with a large piece of octopus, are so popular that many visitors to Ikaho don’t go home without eating some. The menu also includes shaved ice, agar jelly, Oshiruko, a sweet red bean soup, and amazake (sweet rice wine) depending on the season.

- Takoyaki and soft serve by the window
- Got a little hungry on the steps up to Ikaho shrine and dropped by on the way back. Takoyaki was pretty good. They have a restaurant seating area as well
