Nihonkashi Kumoizu
A confectionary shop which creates sweets blending Japanese and Western styles with a focus on using local Nasu ingredients. The shop itself is decorated in Japanese style, but its confections significantly incorporate Western influences. The shop’s specialty are its enman, an sweet red bean paste made with fresh Nasu eggs and milk wrapped in a moist dough—two flavors are available, milk and pudding. Some of the shop’s many other delicious treats include fluffy dorayaki bean paste pancake sandwiches made with rice flour; crumbly baked mugi koro balls made with wheat; and monaka sable cookies, also made with rice flour to give them a unique texture.
