Yano Toen
Yano Toen in downtown Awa Otani is a long-established studio that produces Otani ware, Tokushima’s traditional craft. Said to be the oldest Otani ware studio, it still uses a traditional climbing kiln located on the premises. The studio also sells a brand of pottery called “Sueki Ceramics.” They produce practical vessels with sleek designs for use in any setting. Otani ware's appeal continues worldwide. Ceramic making workshops are also held at the studio where you can try making your own Otani ware.
