Taisan-ji Temple

This is a temple of the Shingon sect Chizan School in Taisanji Town, Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, and the 52nd temple of the Shikoku 88-temple Pilgrimage. It is said that the hall was built overnight by Manonochoja in 586. The main hall, designated as a National Treasure is the third and was constructed in 1305, and this temple is the largest of the Shingon Esoteric Buddhist sect. A Buddhist idol enshrined by the priest Gyoki and seven statues of eleven-faced Avalokitesvara are designated as Important Cultural Properties. There is a custom of making an offering of rice Shamoji spoons to the Shotokutaishi-do to have academic achievement.

第５２番札所太山寺松山市の郊外にあり近くにはプロゴルファー松山英樹選手の冠がついたゴルフ練習場もありました。無料の駐車場は仁王門をくぐった先にあります。駐車場から国宝の本堂までは坂道がだらだらと続き少し時間がかかりますが雰囲気はよかったです。
52番札所。一ノ門からまあまあ歩きます

松山駅から10キロほど。やっと着いたと思った一ノ門から仁王門。納経所を通過して、階段を登ってのやっと本堂。距離はそんなにない300mぐらい？ですが、かなりの急勾配を登ります。山があるから太山寺です。

四国八十八ヶ所霊場巡りで初めて行きました。駐車場が狭く、寺もそれほど大きくありませんでした。かつては大寺院だったそうですが、戦乱で焼失したそうです。大師堂のそばにはキリシタン灯籠がありました。ご本尊は阿弥陀如来でした。
