Hagi Mansion Nagaya of the Former Asa-Mori Family (Row-house Building)

Historical Monument
The Hagi Mansion was the residence of the Asa-Mori family, who were descended from Mori Motoaki, the fifth son of Mori Motonari. Today, all that remains of the original mansion is a Nagaya (row-house building) with a gabled, hipped roof, which was built in 1856; the building has been designated as a National Important Cultural Property. It is the largest surviving samurai residence in Hagi, with dimensions of 5 meters between beams and a ridge length of 51.5 meters. There is plenty for visitors to see, including models of Hagi Castle.
