Nekkoya
Creative Cuisine
Nekkoya is an izakaya (Japanese-style pub) where guests can enjoy seasonal food from the San'in region including Lake Shinji. It is located along Ohashi River, about three minutes on foot from the north exit of Matsue Station. The warm, wooden interior of the pub with its spacious atrium type space has a very relaxed feel. The well loved and creative food on offer is a blend of both Western and Japanese tastes such as their deisui-shijimi, clams from Lake Shinji bathed in sake, and their dogi-no-ichiyaboshi (white fish salted and dried overnight), as well as their rich and juicy foie gras chawanmushi (steamed egg custard and other ingredients). Nekkoya is a relaxing place to have a meal while looking out over the river.
