Zaimokuiwa Park
Zaimokuiwa Park is a park located downstream from Shichikashuku Dam that takes as its theme both water and the valley’s rock formations. The “Obara no Zaimokuiwa” rock formations (with a “grain” resembling that of wood), which have been designated as a National Natural Monument, are located on the opposite bank of the Shiroishi River. Every year in late April, large numbers of carp streamer can be seen swimming upstream, which makes for a very impressive spectacle. Children enjoy playing in the stone fountain in the Park. There is also a fishing pond, a farm restaurant, and a store selling local farm products. Zaimokuiwa is a great place to relax and unwind.
