Memorial Hall

A cultural museum in Toge Inju-minami, Haguro Town, Tsuruoka City. The museum has exhibits covering the famous Dewa Sanzan (three mountains of Dewa) culture of the yamabushi (mountain priest) who practiced here. Visitors to the museum can also have a go at blowing a conch shell and learn about the Dewa Sanzan and mountain asceticism through lectures and seminars on ascetic practices and the sacred mountains.

隋神門の前の坂を少し上がった所にあります。羽黒山の歴史、また山伏さんのことなどもよくわかり楽しかったです。

羽黒山五重塔の駐車場に車を駐めたらその斜め向かいに蔵を模した真新しい大きな鉄筋コンクリートの建物が建っています。トイレを借りに行ったのですが、中にはこの地域をはじめとして山形県の観光に関する情報が得られるようになっていて、結構見応えのある展示にも事欠きません。

羽黒山の随神門からほど近い場所にあります。
館内は有料です。駐車場もあります。
「いでは」の名称は「出羽」、ドイツ語のidea(イディア=理想理念)に通じていると紹介されています。

出羽三山の山岳信仰に関する展示があり、出羽三山を訪れる前あるいは後に立ち寄るとより、理解が深まります。
