Ekimae Bashokan serves Hiraizumi Wanko Soba, soba noodles served in small bowls, is located only a one-minute walk from Hiraizumi Station. It is a subdued one-story Japanese-style building with a tile roof within sight of Hiraizumi Station. Customers obtain refills of the small servings at their own individual pace. The popular Special Wanko Soba consists of soba portioned out into 24 small bowls, coming with things like spices, large servings of tempura, or fruit. Customers who want a quick and easy way to enjoy soba can order Zaru Soba, which is served cold with dipping sauce on the side, or Tempura Soba, topped with deep-fried seafood or vegetables.

毛越寺へ行く前、お昼過ぎに回りました。
色々なのを食べたかったので三代そばを注文。
バランスよく盛り付けられており美味しかったです。

店の名前の通り、平泉の駅前にあります。一般的なイメージのわんこそばでなく、盛りだし式と言って、あらかじめ小さなお椀に盛られたそばが12杯×二段重ねで、薬味類と共に出てきます。一緒に付いてくる案内文によると、この店が元祖とのこと。一段分(12杯)は無料でお代わりできます。蕎麦湯も付いてくるので、男性でも結構お腹が一杯になります。観光にきた気持ちを高揚させてくれる店です。
