The shop’s cute exterior matches well with the townscape of Kakunodate, known as “little Kyoto.” The second floor is a restaurant; from the terrace seating area, you can enjoy café-style drinks and light meals together with a sweeping view of the Hinokinai River, famous for its avenue of cherry trees. The most popular item on the restaurant menu is the fluffy and rich omelet rice, made with flavorful Hinai-jidori chicken eggs. The Saimyoji Monc Blanc set, made with Saimyoji-guri chestnuts soaked in syrup, is popular among women customers for its reserved, delicate sweetness.

西明寺栗をふんだんに使ったお菓子屋さんです。大福は400円、パイ包みは相場で変動して、1個800-900円くらいです。なかなか複数個は買えませんが、おいしかったです。

１階はケーキ、焼き菓子、和菓子を販売。２階はレストランで、１階で購入したケーキも食べれます。日本一大きい西明寺栗を使ったお菓子は種類も豊富で、手土産としてよく買わせていただいてます。

角館の武家屋敷街の南側にあるケーキ屋さん兼喫茶店です。横町橋の袂にあるので、武家屋敷街の散策中に立ち寄るには少々外れています。ただ、武家屋敷街の休憩所や食事処はシーズンになると大混雑しますが、こちらはそれほど混雑しませんので、気軽に立ち寄れます。穴場的な存在です。1階がケーキと焼き菓子の販売、2階がカフェになっています。なお、2階のカフェではオムライスなども食べられるようです。こちらのウリは西明...
