Hot Spring / Hot Spring Bath

Senju Onsen is a hot spring facility for day use located in Minakuchizawa in the city of Tokamachi, Niigata Prefecture. It features tea-colored spring-fed water with weak alkalinity that is said to be beneficial for the skin. It has bathing areas permeated with the soothing scent of cypress, bath tubs made of Shinano River’s cobblestones, and a spacious outdoor bath. A popular spot for local people, it also has a large salon and lounge and a restaurant that serves a varied menu, including ramen, soba, set meals, and sushi.

時間に限りがあり、外のスペースの足湯だけの利用となりました。週末のお昼前、地元の方が吸い込まれるように建物に入っていきます。足湯利用のかたも何人かいて、本を読んだり、話をしたりそれぞれ自分の時間を楽しんでいらっしゃいました。
足湯はぽかぽか気持ちよいのが持続しました。このあたりは温泉が豊富ですね。

建物が積雪に囲まれた千年の湯に行ってみました。入口を入ると暖房が効いている。お湯は熱めで、寒い露天風呂はさらに熱め。まずは熱めのサウナで体を温めたあと、雪を見ながら露天風呂と内湯に入った。少し茶色味がかったヌルヌルとしたお湯に浸かっていると体がほっかほか。お風呂を上がって2時間経っても、まだ体は冷えませんでした。

時間があまり無い中で、勢いで立ち寄ったのだが、想像以上にいいお湯で、とてもよかった。このあとの予定をすっ飛ばして、このままずっといようかと思ったくらい。
琥珀色のとても気持ち良いお湯で、とても身体が温まる。
明日また帰りに寄ろうかなぁ(^_^;)
