Yamashiro Onsen Gensen Ashiyu
A free footbath located in the Yamashiro Onsen hot spring resort area in Kaga, Ishikawa where visitors can soak their feet in the same hot spring waters beloved by such celebrities as the artist Rosanjin and the poet Akiko Yosano. The waters which burble up directly from the hot spring source are rich in minerals and are also drinkable. The foot bath has benches covered with roofs seating up to 10 people, ensuring that visitors can enjoy the relaxing waters even on rainy days. A statue of the Yatagarasu crow, a figure connected in myth with the origins of Yamashiro Onsen, stands atop a boulder at the bath.
