Sumo-jinja Shrine

This is a shrine in Anashi, Sakurai City. It is the birth place of Sumo wrestling as a match between Taimanokehaya and Nominosukune was held approximately 2,000 years ago in the presence of the Emperor. There is no main building of a shrine, however, visitors can see the ruins of the Torii gate and the sumo wrestling ring.
