Noma Lighthouse
Built in 1921, the Noma Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse in the prefecture. Its official name is the Nomazaki Lighthouse. A symbol of the town of Mihama, the white of the lighthouse’s walls shines against the blue of the sea and sky. Serving as a marker for boats, the lighthouse is also famous for shining its light on lovers. Visitors who seek to deepen their bond with someone special will pledge their love by placing a padlock on a nearby rail. They then exchange vows of love by ringing the bell in front of the lighthouse facing Ise Bay. Known as a sanctuary for lovers, the lighthouse is visited by large numbers of people each year.
