Jogashima Island
Island
Jogashima Island is located at the southern tip of the Miura Peninsula. It's the largest natural island in Kanagawa Prefecture. A habitat for Japanese cormorants, pelagic cormorants, and eastern reef herons, it's been designated a prefectural Natural Monument. Jogashima Prefectural Park occupies the eastern half of the island and is known for its daffodils. Many people visit in January when the island holds its Daffodil Festival. Yae daffodils are at their peak during this time, and there are also performances of kaibo jinya drumming and soran-bushi. They sell special items like jinyajiru soup too.
