British House Yokohama

Historical Monument
Located a seven minute walk from Motomachi-Chukagai Station on the Minatomirai Line. This white building, standing in a corner of Harbor View Park overlooking the port, was built as a residence for the British consul general. The home is designated a Cultural Property by the city of Yokohama. The first floor centers around the parlor room and also includes a sun porch, dining room, spacious terrace, and natural lawn outside. The second floor is the location of the bedrooms and an exhibition room, and these are also open for viewing by the general public. When the roses are in season, you can view some 1,300 beautiful rose plants in the adjoining rose garden.
