Ehrismann Residence

Historical Monument
"The Residence of Mr. Fritz Ehrismann, who was the Yokohama manager of the raw silk trading company Siebel Hegner & Co. It was designed by Antonin Raymond, the ""Father of Modern Architecture"". When it was first completed in 1926, it was located in 127 Yamate Town. The building is elaborately crafted down to the smallest detail, such as the window shutters. It was demolished for the construction of a condominium and recreated at the current location in 1990. Furniture and documents are displayed in the house, giving visitors a glimpse of what it was like in those days. The kitchen is now used as a coffee shop with a modern atmosphere (currently closed)."
