Coffee House Coffee-Kan at 1-chome, Shimoda City is a well-established café which opened in 1973. Coffee brewed using an old-fashioned siphon is the fruit of skillful technique. Harris’ Dream, coffee with homeishu (medicated liquor) with the image of Mr. Harris, the first U.S. consul general, as well as the food such as Omuraisu (rice wrapped with a thin omelette) with tomato sauce and the cake of the day is high quality.

We went here for an after dinner coffee and dessert. The latte was carefully crafted and the banana pudding was delicious. The cafe has a unique atmosphere and the owner was very friendly.

30年前の夏に行きコーヒーの香りと美味しさを初めて知りました。それまでコーヒーは苦手な若者でしたがこちらのお店かその後の自分の嗜好性を変えてくれました。社会人になるまでは毎年夏に下田に行く度に必ず立ち寄っていました。それからしばらくご無沙汰していましたが、昨年下田に訪れた際に立ち寄りました。変わらぬ美味しさと昔から変わらない静かでアットホームな店内に時が止まりました。このままずっと続けていたたい...
