Antica Trattoria Dal PirataAntica Trattoria Dal Pirata(アンティカ トラットリア ダル ピラータ)

Italian Cuisine

This is an Italian restaurant on the coast around a 10-minute walk from Kawazu Station, in an old remodeled warehouse said to have been around for more than 150 years. Inside is a mature atmosphere, with thick beams and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Here one can enjoy unique regional Italian cuisine using the best of local ingredients including locally-sourced vegetables and seasonal fish, Izu beef, Amagi fowl, and spiny lobster unloaded at Kawazu Port. Both lunch and dinner require reservations (the latter two days before).

Review of Dal Pirata

TripAdvisor Traveler Rating
Reviewed:2019/06/11 Lovely little restaurant
Very cosy interior, small so probably good to book. Decent Italian food if you need a break from Japanese cuisine. Very friendly
Reviewed:2015/08/24 Dining with a great chef
The chefs Italian experience gave him a superb background for taking Izuvian produce and creating superb courses. Highly regarded by everyone who dines here.
Reviewed:2018/03/22

With the giant Pacific Ocean to the south and the great Mount Fuji to the north, Shizuoka prefecture is blessed with some of the best views the country has to offer. The white sand beaches of the Izu Peninsula are a rare find on mainland Japan, neighbored by beautiful cliffs, tumbling hills, and natural hot springs. As Japan’s largest producer of green tea, the age-old tradition of tea drinking is ubiquitous in Shizuoka, from the miles of tea fields to the old tea houses hosting traditional tea ceremonies.
