Ichiraku
This Japanese sweets shop within the Atami Ekimae Heiwa Dori Shopping Street in Shizuoka Prefecture’s Atami City is easily distinguished by the large red noren curtains bearing the shop name. They are very particular about their ingredients used, such as homemade miso, Bicchu dainagon (a large-grained variety of azuki bean), Tokachi azuki bean, and Tanba black soybean, and ever since it was founded it has been selling a variety of sweets crafted with meticulous techniques. The Miso Tsubo Manju made with miso that takes one year to mature is often purchased as an Atami souvenir. Also popular are their Dainagon Zenzai (red bean soup), Coffee Jelly, and Horoniga Caramel Ichiraku Pudding which contain tsubuan (coarse sweet red bean paste) and can be purchased at the front of the shop.
