Three minutes on foot from Hakone Yumoto Station, this yuba (tofu skin) specialist is located behind a row of souvenir shops. The interior, renovated from a wooden-structured traditional hotel, is a bright, calm and spacious and customers can look out on to the Hayakawa River from the large windows. It is proud of its cuisine using yuba made with the famous water, Himenomizu, from Taiheidai in Hakone and the most well-known dish is the yuba-don bowl. It is a superb, deeply tasty and nutritious dish with bonito stock soup and yuba simmered in an earthen pot and then mixed with egg.

Kanagawa Main Areas
Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
