Gin no Hoごはんと板前料理 銀の穂

Other Japanese Food

A restaurant where patrons can enjoy a meal with the beautiful pampas grass tableland of the Sengokuhara in Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo County, Kanagawa Prefecture stretching out before them. The restaurant is renowned for its wappa-meshi and kama-meshi seafood-topped rice made with an abundance of local ingredients like vegetables harvested from the restaurant’s own farm, Fujisanroku pork, Odawara horse mackerel, and Hime no Mizu yuba tofu skin. The most popular item on the menu is the kama-meshi topped with thick cubes of Fujisanroku pork. Gin no Ho also offers a wide variety of a la carte items like Japanese pond smelt, a specialty product from Lake Ashi, served deep fried or salted and dried overnight.

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
