Awashima Marine Parkあわしまマリンパーク
A leisure park occupying the entirety of the unpopulated Awashima island in the city of Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. In addition to an aquarium, the park also has walking courses, a fishing pond, and more. The park’s Frog Hall houses and displays over 50 species of frogs, from common Japanese varieties to rare specimens from around the world. The park’s aquarium contains exhibits recreating the ocean around Awashima, as well as a touch pool where visitors can touch unusual and rare sea creatures. The park’s dolphin shows, held in a pool filled with natural seawater, as well as the comical sea lion shows featuring ad libing at every show, are also must-sees.
