Hakone Lake Ashi pleasure cruises箱根 芦ノ湖遊覧船 元箱根港

Pleasure Boat / Water Cruise

Board a pleasure cruise traveling Lake Ashi in Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo County, Kanagawa Prefecture. There’s a scheduled route which connects the four harbors of Hakone Sekisho-ato Port, Motohakone Port, Hakone-en Port, and Kojiri Port, as well as a round trip routes which leave from and return to each of the four. The round trip routes take anywhere from 30 to 70 minutes depending on the harbor. A 70 minute tour route circling Lake Ashi departs only from Kojiri Port. Cruise-goers can enjoy traveling across the lake’s waters while gazing at the mountains of Hakone and Mt. Fuji. Together with a trip on the Hakone Pirate Ship, which also sets sail on Lake Ashi, taking one of these pleasure cruises is a staple of any visit to Hakone.

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo's most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
