Koshu Hoto Kosaku Isawa Station Street Shop甲州ほうとう 小作 石和駅前通り店

Local Cuisine

This is one branch of a popular chain of local cuisine restaurants in Yamanashi and Nagano. The most popular dish, the pumpkin hoto noodle stew is the basis for Koshu hoto stew. With one bite, the sweetness of the pumpkin and the flavour of the stock will fill your mouth. Hoto with game such as soft-shelled turtle or bear, chilled hoto only available seasonally and oyster hoto are all superb.

Yamanashi prefecture is the proud home of one of Japan’s most celebrated icons: Mount Fuji. Although the mountain straddles both Yamanashi and Shizuoka, the most breathtaking views of Fuji-san can be seen from the Fuji Five Lakes north of the mountain in Yamanashi prefecture. The plethora of outdoor activities in and around the lakes all have the benefit of the country’s highest mountain as their backdrop, and we can assure you that it is an unforgettable sight.
