The Usuda Star Dome lets visitors enjoy a genuine stargazing experience, with a reflecting telescope featuring a 60-centimeter aperture being the main attraction. The “eyelid dome” and “sliding roof” where the telescopes are set up are bigger than normal domes and display countless stars in the night sky between observation sessions. When the weather isn’t good for stargazing, you can enjoy a star slideshow. It’s about a 20-minute drive from the Sakuminami Interchange on the Chubu-Odan Expressway.

運動公園を通り過ぎた山頂付近にあるこじんまりとした天文台。夏は観測会を開催しているので調べてから行くべし。駐車場脇にキャンプできるスペースもあるし周辺の森も散策にオススメ。

臼田総合運動公園に近い展望台です。大きな望遠鏡を使っての観望会が開催されています。他に天体に関する教室にも参加できます。
アットホームで分かりやすい説明

大きな天体望遠鏡を見るのが初めてでしたが、木星の縞模様や土星の輪も見ることがが出来て良い経験でした。月や星に関する説明も分かりやすく面白く教えて頂いたので、小学生の子供も飽きずに楽しめました。今回は月が明るかったので、次回は月の出ていない時に行ってみようと思います。
