This art museum is located in Hotakaariake, Azumino City. It opened in 1983 and is based on the concept of “displaying only mountain paintings at the base of the Northern Alps.” Permanent exhibits include works by Genichiro Adachi, Mizuki Kato, famous mountain painters, and currently active artists who specialize in depicting mountains.

    穂高駅前の観光案内所で借りた自転車で20分、近づくほどに看板が少なくなり右側の看板を見落とし1kmほど先まで行ってしまったが 緑に囲まれた小さな美術館に着き、お目当ての武本嘉成を楽しむことができた。

    松林にある、小さな山小屋美術館ですが、山の絵を中心に展示された作品は興味深かったです。風景画がお好きな方にもオススメの美術館です。

    山岳の絵画は何人かの画家の作品を展示しています。日本の山の絵はどこか優しく海外の山の絵とは違う趣でした。家に一枚ほしいとも思いました。
