Ehonmura

Art Museum
Quietly sitting in the middle of the Yatsugatake forest with its characteristic mountain hut appearance is Ehonmura. This is the first library in Japan dedicated to picture books with a ‘Story House’ where you can freely read picture books, and an ‘Art House’ with a display of original picture book images and a picture book corner just for grown-ups. The idea is to bring the world of picture books and the warmth of the wooded surroundings into the hearts of children from 0 to 100 years old. Workshops and puppet shows are held on the stage decorated with cute looking pictures. And in the adjoining cafe visitors can enjoy a relaxing cup of original herb tea.
