Aratojo Castle Historical Park

Built on the site of Aratojo Castle, the epicenter of the fierce Battle of Kawanakajima fought between Oda Nobunaga and Uesugi Kenshin, here you can get a sense of what mountain castles were like during that time, and the park is visited by a great many tourists from both in and outside the prefecture. From the watchtowers, you can get a sweeping view of such picturesque scenery as the Chikuma River and the Kamiyada Hot Spring area.
