Local Cuisine

Located in Omachi City, Nagano Prefecture, this restaurant operates out of a refurbished civilian home that is 120 years old. It is known for its local traditional cuisine and its dedicated service. Highly rated is the “kurobuta don” with its strong umami taste from “Omachi kurobuta” raised in clean air with clean water, and the set menu “shionomichi omatsuri gozen” with its seasonal small bowl is popular. With its atmospheric Japanese space, this spot is one you can enjoy famous local brewers’ sake and the great taste of Omachi. *Since the famous Omachi “ozanza” has been discontinued, it will only be offered as long as available in the stockroom.

Came here solo and it was an amazing fine dining experience but at such a low price. Each dish was sourced from local produce and presented beautifully

This is one of those exceptional places you didnt even expect. You dine in a guest room in an extremely authentic Japanese residential architecture. A very fine dining at an everyday price.
Reviewed:2016/06/29 If youre in town, definitely worth visiting!
I came across this establishment actually in October 2013, and again in October 2012 for the Omachi Alps Marathon. I arrived the day before the race and was walking around near the hotel and train...

Nagano prefecture is an exciting mix of mountains, hot spring monkeys, and preserved Edo history. At the heart of the Japanese Alps, Nagano is one of the country’s most popular destinations, whether in winter for its snow sports and the much-loved Jigokudani Monkey Park or in the warmer months for discovering the undulating hills on foot. For fantastic Edo architecture, head to the Kiso Valley for a 60-kilometer stretch of quaint wooden buildings that marked the Nakasendo route 200 years ago.
