Tamatsukuri Inari-jinja Shrine

Shrine
This shrine in Tamatsukuri is believed to have been established in 12 BCE during the 18th year of Emperor Suinin. It is located on the outermost region of Osaka Castle and during the Toyotomi and Tokugawa period was the shrine for the Shinto deity of Osaka Castle. The Shinto deities Ukanomitama and Shitateruhime are enshrined here, making the shrine known for clothing, shelter, prosperous business, and prosperous descendants. Wedding ceremonies where the bride wears a junihitoe (twelve-layer kimono) as well as international wedding ceremonies, are held here. Foxes will pair for life, and so after the wedding ceremony the couple will write their names on a fox ema (wooden wish plaque) of love and dedicate it to the shrine.
