Yasui-jinja Shrine
This shrine is right next to Shitennouji-mae Yuhigaoka Station on the Osaka Tanimachi Subway Line. Yasui-jinja Shrine is also known as Yasui Tenmangu Shrine. It is unknown when it was founded, but it is referenced in the Creation of the country by Okuninushi as a shrine dedicated to Sukunahikona no Mikoto. Legend has it that Sugawara Michizane stayed at this shrine before he boarded the boat when he was sent to Dazaifu in Fukuoka. It is also the resting place of Sanada Yukimura after his defeat at the siege of Osaka by the Tokugawa army in 1615 where he was discovered by enemy forces and killed.
