Every year in the middle of April for about one week, an approximately 560-meter road in Kita Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture from the Japan Mint southern gate to the northern gate is opened to visitors for cherry blossom viewing. Many precious varieties of cherry blossoms line the road, including benitemari, odemari, kodemari, and Yoro blossoms. After the sun sets, the blossoms are gently illuminated, creating an almost otherworldly spectacle. Temmabashi Station and Osakajo-kitazume Station are the closest to the entrance. The premises are one-way only, and the surrounding areas have limited vehicle access, so using public transportation is recommended.

八重の桜

大阪市内の桜の名所と言えば、全国的には先ず造幣局の通り抜けが出てくるでしょう。ソメイヨシノではなく、八重桜ですが、流石に100年以上の歴史ある桜の通り抜け、お見事です。コロナで3年ぶりの通り抜けで、今年は事前予約制で比較的ゆったりと見ることができて良かったです。

2020年開催されていれば、春日井が今年の桜として迎えてくれてたようです。今年は残念でしたが、また来年、楽しみたいですね。
