Zakimi Castle Ruins

Gosamaru was renowned as a master castle architect, and these are the ruins of a castle he built at the start of the 15th century. It is replete with amazing sights, including the smooth curve of the castle walls and the elegant arch gateway, said to be the oldest in Okinawa. It is also a registered World Heritage Site. From the top of the castle, you can enjoy a splendid view of the East China Sea, and the sight of the sun sinking into its beautiful blue depths is one you won’t want to miss.

いろんな要素があるミュージアム

座喜味城跡の麓に位置するミュージアムです。座喜味城に関する博物館であり、読谷村に関する民俗博物館でもあり、地元の作家に関する美術館でもあります。訪れた時の企画展では、沖縄からの海外への移民のことを調査した結果を掲示していました。いろいろな要素が複合的にありました。

続日本100名城、座喜味城スタンプを押すにあたって一緒に入館してみた。お邪魔した日はちょうど無料開放日にあたっていてラッキーだった。織物の企画展を併催しており、作者からの直接の開設なども聞けた。基本的には座喜味城や地元の風土に関する展示がされているミュージアムだが、館内はきれいで清潔件のある施設だった。また、言い方は悪いかも知れないが、この手のミュージアムとしては展示内容も充実していて見応えもある...
