Registered National Cultural Asset Nishijin Tondaya
This workshop facility is in Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto City. Built in 1885, it's a Kyoto merchant townhouse that once housed the kimono wholesaler Tondaya. It was designated as a national Registered Tangible Cultural Properties in 1999. It's a great venue for learning about the traditional customs of Kyoto and having cultural experiences like dressing up kimonos and serving tea. They also offer tours where they show you around inside the townhouse.
