Shopping Street

This shopping street is located on Teramachi-dori Street in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto and connects Sanjo and Shijo. It is lined with approx. 170 different shops, including clothing, miscellaneous goods and cafes. Many events in each season are held there, such as for Tanabata (Star Festival) and Christmas. There is a mosaic compass at the entrance that has become the symbol of the shopping street. It has been loved by locals for a long time.
