Uji Bridge
This bridge is located in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture. Built during the Asuka period, it is said to be Japan's oldest bridge, and is counted along with Shiga Prefecture's Seta no Karahashi Bridge and Yamazaki Bridge in the town of Oyamazaki in Otokuni District as one of the three oldest bridges in Japan. The current bridge was replaced in 1996, and is 155.4 meters in length and 25 meters wide. In addition, since it makes an appearance in the Tale of Genji, there is a statue of Murasaki Shikibu nearby.
