Thought to have been founded before the building of Heian-kyo, Wara Tenjingu Shrine is dedicated to the Shinto goddess Konohananosakuya-hime. She is worshiped as a divinity of matchmaking, fertility, and child birth. In addition to prayers for safe delivery when women are five months pregnant, women receive amazake as a blessing to help them nurse on the ninth day of the ninth month of pregnancy. The shrine's especially busy at that time. You can also receive prayers to ward off evil and invite blessings.

娘の安産祈願は２度ともこちらにお参りしました。境内は手狭な感じで妊婦さんには適度な広さでは。他の方の口コミにもあるように係りの人は愛想よくありません。いつも同じ質問が多く、冷たい感じの対応になっている感じで録音しておけばと思いました。妊婦は繊細な時期でもあるので配慮すればと思いますが、ご利益はあるのかな（笑）無料の駐車場がありますが狭いので、急ぐなら近くのコインパーキング利用もありです。
赤ちゃん連れのファミリーがほほえましい！

安産の神様として有名な「わら天神」。境内に入ると、何組か、赤ちゃんを連れたファミリーが目につきました。ここで安産祈願のお参りをして、無事元気な赤ちゃんが生まれたことを報告に来ているのではないかと思いました。安産祈願のお守りには護符と藁が入っています。藁に節があれば男の子、なければ女の子といわれているそうですよ。
