The ManpukujiTemple was erected by the Zen master Ingen in 1661. Its temple construction style and culture are all from the Chinese Ming dynasty. It is well known for the fact that visitors can enjoy Fusa cuisine, the vegetarian cuisine that the master imported from China. Here one can taste of the 310 year old simple yet profound Zen flavor. Reservations must be made in the moriningthreedays prior to your visit.

仏像や建築様式に中国の様式が感じられます。昔訪れた台湾を思い出しました。駅からも近くでアプローチしやすいので、平等院や伏見稲荷と同日に観光できますね。

「普茶料理」とは中国風の精進料理です。見た目は地味ですが、味わいはとても深く美味しいです。京料理の原点の一つがここにあることを実感できます。万福寺周辺には普茶料理を出すお店が何軒かありますが、正統派を味わいたいなら万福寺ＨＰを見て予約し、境内の中に入っていただくことをお薦めします。

黄檗にあるお寺で、普茶料理が食べたくて訪れました。普茶料理とは中華の要素が入った精進料理です。あらかじめ電話での予約が必要です。また、お弁当は1人でも予約出来ますが、コース料理は２人以上でないと予約出来ません。予約後ハガキが送られてくるので、それを持って行きます。和え物や煮物、天ぷらなど少しずついただけます。どれもシンプルながらも下ごしらえに手間がかかってそうなお料理でした。雲片（うんぺん）とい...
