This temple in Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture belongs to the Myoshinji school of Rinzai Zen Buddhism. Also called Monjudo, it enshrines Monju Bodhisattva. Known as a deity of wisdom, lots of students come for prayers, especially at exam time. The temple has many important cultural assets too, such as its Tahoto Pagoda.

I was totally charmed by the super cute folding fan omikuji (fortunes)! The grounds are lovely, and there are cool paintings (albeit of hell!) inside the temple. Definitely one of my favorite temples...

The Temple has several buildings set close to the centre of the town. The Temple had an air of simplicity tinged with plenty of history as evidenced by the very old memorials in the grounds
