This is a kamameshi (rice, meat and vegetable dish served in a small pot) restaurant in a backstreet of Shijo-Kawaramachi, around a five-minute walk from Hankyu Kawaramachi Station. Established in 1945, the place has a coziness that stirs feelings of nostalgia. The menu features traditional Kyoto home cooking including ebi-imo (shrimp-shaped taro) and sanzokuyaki (fried chicken). The set menu is kamameshi, which is cooked in a ceramic pot after the order is received. The popular “Tori-Kamameshi” is fluffy rice cooked in their inherited traditional dashi soup stock then mixed with chicken fat to bring out its rich flavor.

四条河原町から至近なのに喧騒がまるでない落ち着く小料理屋。ご主人と女将さんとお姉さんの3人で切り盛りしているが店がこじんまりしているのでオーダーも料理がでてくるのもスムース。お酒も美味しい。少人数でゆっくり話したい時にお勧めの店。

京都に行くと帰りに必ず寄る釜飯屋さんです．出汁のきいたふっくらご飯の釜飯はいつも変わらず美味しいのですが，それ以上に変わらないのは，女将さんの丁寧なおもてなしです．京都弁の上品なご挨拶で，釜飯がさらに10倍くらい美味しくなります．

アテも揃う釜飯屋。アテは焼売や天麩羅、煮物まで幅広く揃い、更に季節の一品や釜飯が加わる。営業は夜のみで席もテーブル×4とカウンター3席のみなので夕食時は混み合い易く、若干ピーク時間帯をズラした方が入りやすい。
