This is an old Kyoto-style tsukemono (pickled vegetables) shop established in 1879 and located a three minute-walk along Senbon-dori Street from Senbon Imadegawa bus stop. The shop’s exterior with its large noren curtains has classic Kyoto charm. Aside from being able to buy seasonal Kyoto tsukemono, at lunch (only) the shop offers tatami “chazuke seats” inside for eating chazuke (rice with tea poured on). From the partition in the tatami room one can glimpse the washbasin and look out over the typical Kyoto machiya inner garden while dining—the height in sophistication. The popular Otsukemono Course contains a variety of foodstuffs including an assortment of seasonal tsukemono, sliced dried daikon radish, and light-brown miso zoni (soup containing rice cakes and vegetables).

前職の職場の近くにあった際に利用しましたが、最近は接待の際の手土産の購入元として利用しています。お勧めは柚こぼしと詩仙きゅうりですが、季節もののタケノコのお漬物もお酒のアテとして楽しめます。

ランチを利用しました。お店で売っているもの、ランチでしか食べられないもの、何種類もの旬の漬物が出てきます。お魚の麹付けも美味。ちりめんじゃこも食べ放題ということで、ごはんを何度もおかわりさせていただきました。すぐきの漬物が気に入りました。お茶漬けも最高でした。また行きます。
