Omuta City Zoo (大牟田市動物園)

This is a zoo surrounded by the lush nature of Enmei Park, located in just about the center of Omuta City. Inside are lions, tigers and squirrel monkeys, as well as a children’s amusement park with merry-go-rounds, a viewing platform and a picnic area, making it a place loved by people of all ages and families with children most of all. Popular events include animal petting activities.

うん十年ぶりで訪れました。平日だったので人も多くなく、青空の下、他のお客さんと十分に間隔を取って見学できました。
動物福祉という明確なコンセプトを打ち出し、動物の負担を減らしながら飼育する工夫は素晴らしいし、それを見学できるのも良いです。また身近に動物を見られる工夫がされていて、楽しめました。檻や柵ごしでなく、リスざるや孔雀、カンガルーを見学できたのは貴重な体験でした。

入園料も安くて、1日中楽しめる動物園です。子供も大人も楽しめる。ゆっくりできる動物園です。たくさんの動物がいます。見せ方も工夫されています。イベントもあっていて、ライオンが餌を探して食べる。食べるのに、ジャンプして取りに行くのがすごかったです。
とても楽しかったです。少しだけ遊園地もあります。

動物園内の動物が心なしか生き生きしてる感じがします。
ちょっと狭い檻とかもあったりしますが、動物たちが自由に行き来ができるように寝室解放してるところもあり。もちろん寝室に入ってしまった動物は見ることはできませんが、見れたら幸運ということで。
