Mekari Park
This is a park situated within northern Kyushu’s “Setouchi National Park,” with close views of Honshu across the Kanmon Straits. It is popular with both adults and children, and there are saltwater pools inside as well as one the country’s largest frescos in Arita-ware porcelain: “Genji and Heike Dan-no-ura Battle Picture Scroll.” The large viewing platform offers an unbroken view of the Kanmon Straits. At night one can see the setting sun sinking into the Hibikinada Sea, the Kanmonkyo Bridge lit up, and a night view of the Mojiko Retro area.
