Rokusei Cold Noodle Specialty Shop is distinctive for its strong-bodied yet tasting-good-going-down noodles. The chashu pork and kimchi ingredients are top class, and the combination of domestic beef and soup stock carefully created with thick-leafed konbu is exquisite. Aside from reimen cold noodles, they also serve unmen (a type of somen without added oil) and ramen. It is a 12-minute walk from JR Higashi Beppu Station.

別府駅から徒歩15分程度の住宅街に立地、暗い中に赤い提灯が…店内は右側手前と左側にテーブル席、斜め右側にカウンター席と厨房。訪問目的の別府冷麺を注文。運ばれてきた冷麺は小麦粉と蕎麦粉にデンプンを入れた歯応えのあるモチッとした麺、昆布と牛からダシを取ったスープ、牛のらスネ肉を使ったチャーシューとキムチ。盛岡冷麺とは違った大変美味しゅう冷麺でした。本来は中華そばの専門店との事、次回訪問時には是非ラーメ...

別府駅にある観光案内所でランチのおすすめを聞いたら冷麺がおすすめだと。中でも人気店に行ってみた。通常の冷麺があったが、人気のきくらげ冷麺の並を注文。いやあ、ウマイ！注文して正解でした。コロナのためか並ばずに入れましたが、普段は行列ができるそうです。駅から歩いて５分ほど着くのも良い。
