This gallery and shop is located in Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture and adjoins a Satsuma Kiriko cut glass factory. Satsuma Kiriko is known for the gradations of color created by making deep cuts into thick glass, and its intricate designs and gorgeous hues make this traditional art a delight to behold. Though the techniques went out of use at the beginning of the Meiji period, a movement to revive the art started in 1985, and it continues to be produced today. Visitors can purchase utensils, interior goods, souvenirs, and other items, and they can also observe the creation process. The old-fashioned building itself is a registered Tangible Cultural Property, making it a must-see.

スタバの隣に存在するのは鹿児島へ訪れる度に分かる存在感ある建物です。中には薩摩切子の名工から若手の新作まで、製品が並びます。その中に薩摩ボタン作家『薩摩志史』さんの作品を発見しました。人気ある作家さんの為、ご本人のサイトでは完売であった作品が複数ありました。垂水市の工房まで行くことなく購入でき、大変嬉しかったです。数年間かけて探していたので、ご縁に感謝します。
見るだけでも入る価値あり！

ほとんどの薩摩切子に値段がついているので、ショップのようですが、見ているだけで幸せになります。薩摩切子以外の工芸品も売っています。何万円以上の物しか無いので、買うことはできませんでしたが。
建物は国の登録有形文化財です

仙巌園の隣にある、木造の洋風建築。建物は旧島津家吉野植林所、国の登録有形文化財に指定されています。館内は、薩摩切子のショップになっています。
