Roadside Station Minami Furano

This michi-no-eki roadside station is on National Route 38 in Minami Furano Town, Sorachi County, Hokkaido. There's a massive fish pool with live Sakhalin taimen and white spotted char from the nearby Sorachi River, and the Butter Potatoes made with local Minami Furano potatoes are a hit. Canoes are also quite popular with locals, so the building itself was designed to resemble one.

日本映画の名作鉄道員（ぽっぽや）のロケ地見学に南富良野の幾寅駅へ行ったあと、役場近くの道の駅の物産センターへ行きました。暑い日だったので、生クリーム仕立ての濃厚ソフトクリームが食べたくて、夕張メロンシロップのカップを食べました。美味しいのはまちかいないのですが、もっと濃厚なソフトクリームが食べられる他の道の駅がありました。

国道３８号下り方面の道の駅。道路挟んだ向いには外資系ホテルもオープン。敷地内にはアウトドアショップやパン屋も併設。日曜早朝訪問。午前９時の開店前のせいか一瞬の静寂感が漂います。駐車場は広大ですが、道外ナンバーのキャンピングカーがドヤ顔で振る舞っていたのが気懸り。

道の駅と言うより、南ふらの物産センターに関する投稿です。幾寅駅に向かう途中に立ち寄りました。販売スペースは決して広くないですが、富良野盆地の物産が豊富にあります。私はハスカップサイダーとふらのッち(ポテトチップス)を買いましたが、ソフトクリームも食べれば良かった…ここから旭川・美瑛方面に向かう場合、中富良野まではコンビニはおろか、商店も全くありません。なので、ここで休憩をとるのが良いです。
