Mashike-cho Tourist Information Office
This tourist information office is right in front of JR Mashike Station, which closed in 2016, and is a sightseeing spot. Its retro appearance is from the fact that it was a general store that opened in 1913. You can feel a sense of nostalgia from the wooden old house, many which can be seen throughout Mashike-cho. Used as the location for the movie Eki STATION that was released in 1981, even the sign for the Kazemachi Shokudo has been left in its original appearance. Still photographs from famous scenes in the movie and related articles are exhibited inside the office. Also, the counter of the izakaya pub Kiriko that became the stage of the story has also been reproduced there.
