Otaru Canal Terminal
This bus terminal and commercial complex in Otaru City, Hokkaido is a 10-minute walk from JR Otaru Station. Built as the Otaru Branch of Mitsubishi Bank in 1922, the building features Greco-Roman architecture and has been designated a historical building by city. It hosts Amato Main Store, an old-fashioned sweet shop that sells varieties only available there, the Kuwataya Japanese sweet shop where you can purchase panju cakes (an Otaru specialty), and a wine center where visitors can taste Hokkaido varieties. It's open daily year-round.
